SDSU AidLink is a secure online system that gives you 24-hour access to your SDSU financial aid records and your SDSU scholarship application(s). You can use it to check your email, apply for financial aid, etc.

How to log into sdsu aidlink

You can log into aidlink via sdsu webportal. To log in,

  1. Navigate to
  2. Enter your SDSUid
  3. Click “Log in” to access your dashboard.

You can either Log in using your SDSUid or your SDSU Red ID (your student identification number) and the applicable password.

Your SDSUid (e.g. is the account used to securely access many IT services on campus.

Your Red ID is used to access the SDSU WebPortal to check your admission status, register for classes, check your grades, etc.

How do I use AidLink?

Here are some of the ways you can use SDSU AidLink.

  • View your financial aid and scholarship information, instructions, and status.
  • Read your messages for instructions and actions you must take to be awarded or receive your funds.
  • Complete and submit some documents online.
  • Download and print documents that you need to sign and submit to us.
  • View and print your financial aid and scholarship awards.
  • Activate (request) student & parent loans.

Always check Sdsu AidLink and your email

San Diego State University’s Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will send communication to you in two ways only:

Via email

San Diego State University uses the email address you provided on your SDSU WebPortal account (before admission to SDSU).

After you are admitted and accept the offer of admission, you must activate your email account. Once this is done, all future correspondence will be sent to your SDSU email account.

Via AidLink

AidLink messages give you specific information about your application and instructions about additional information you are required to provide for us to determine your financial aid award.

Even if you have not received a recent email message from the school, it’s a good idea to check your SDSU AidLink account regularly.

SDSU AidLink account is automatic once you apply

Financial aid application: SDSU creates your AidLink account automatically once they electronically receive the information you enter on your FAFSA or California Dream Act Application when you apply online for financial aid. Usually, your AidLink account will be available within 7 to 10 days after you apply.

SDSU scholarship application: If you do not already have an AidLink account created by completing your FAFSA or California Dream Act Application, the University will create an account for you when you apply for an SDSU scholarship online. Your AidLink account is available immediately after you submit an SDSU Aztec Scholarship application online. You may access your SDSU AidLink account at any time to monitor your scholarship application status and awards.

How to apply for SDSU scholarships

Scholarship awards are given to recognize and encourage individual talents, academic achievement, leadership skills, and the determination to succeed despite significant hardships.

To begin the SDSU scholarship application process:

  1. Go to the SDSU Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships Web site.
  2. Click the “Search for Scholarships” button to use SDSU’s free online search tool.
  3. Select scholarships for which you meet the eligibility requirements.
  4. Apply by submitting a separate online application and essay for each scholarship.

Some SDSU scholarships require additional application materials such as a letter of recommendation. Review each scholarship’s application requirements carefully.

The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships provides information and counseling so that you can make informed choices as you and your family plan for meeting the costs associated with attending San Diego State University. They also provide outreach and access services in collaboration with other university departments and the community.
